Well pump FAQ
My water just stopped. What do I check first?
Check your breaker and the pressure switch, then look at the pressure gauge โ if the tank shows pressure but the pump won’t run, it’s usually electrical; if the pump runs but pressure stays at zero, the pump or foot valve is the suspect. Don’t run the pump dry for long โ it can burn out in minutes. If it’s January and you’ve got no water, treat it as an emergency: โ30ยฐC nights freeze lines fast.
How much does a repair cost?
A diagnostic runs $95โ150 and is often credited toward the fix. Switch/tank repairs run $350โ850; a submersible motor $500โ1,200; a full pump replacement $800โ2,200. Details on the pricing page.
How long should a pump last?
Typically 10โ15 years. If yours is inside that window and behaving oddly, budget for a replacement rather than a third repair.
Do I need to be home?
Yes for the diagnostic walkthrough โ the contractor needs to see the wellhead, pressure tank, and where the line enters the house.
Are you the company that fixes the pump?
